Armor Of God – Lesson 4

Shod With The Gospel Of Peace

Peace that walks on the devils

Peace is a man’s internal GPS system. In Paul’s day shoes were to believers like cars are to us … the vehicle that allowed their feet to move from one place to another.

Therefore, shoes may seem strange in a discussion about spiritual armor. What makes them so important?

The Greek word –euaggelion translated gospel—simply means “good news.” This raises a question: What Good News? The gospel of the Kingdom. The good news of the Kingdom of God includes the good news about Jesus Christ, His grace and His plan of salvation. This plan gives us peace now, and will bring peace to the whole world! This is the message God’s people are eager to share with others.

Romans 10:14-15, “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”

Just as shoes allow us to walk on otherwise painful terrain without fear, the preparation of the gospel of peace allows us to traverse the otherwise painful trials and tribulations of life. (Read Romans 8:18)

Luke 10:19-20, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Possessing the Peace of God gives you incredible power over the adversary, as it reveals his hidden schemes. When you don’t have peace, it is God warning you of Satan’s plans vs. His perfect will. Perhaps, Peace is one of the hidden secrets of true spiritual authority, allowing you to simply walk through the devil’s plans of destruction with God’s blessed assurance.
